The challenge
Managing delinquency with consistency, visibility, and care
As CME Federal Credit Union’s loan portfolio grew, the organization needed a more structured, transparent way to manage delinquent accounts while maintaining a member-first approach. Collections spanned early delinquency, charge-off, and post–charge-off stages, creating complexity in tracking account status, coding special situations such as bankruptcy, and maintaining files over time. Without a centralized system aligned to collections workflows, ensuring consistency across the team and gaining clear insight into performance and next steps was challenging. CME FCU needed a solution that could bring discipline, visibility, and operational efficiency to collections while allowing staff to engage members appropriately and effectively throughout the entire delinquency lifecycle.
The solution
MeridianLink Collect
CME FCU implemented MeridianLink® Collect as its primary system for managing the collections portfolio from early delinquency through post–charge-off.
The results
Greater control, clearer visibility, and a more supportive member experience
With MeridianLink Collect, CME FCU established a consistent, end-to-end approach to collections that balances operational efficiency with member care. Staff can now manage all delinquent accounts in a single system, gaining real-time visibility into account status and eliminating manual file tracking. By engaging accounts early and maintaining continuity through later stages, CME FCU is able to work with members proactively and responsibly, reducing friction and improving outcomes.
Looking ahead, CME FCU plans to expand its use of MeridianLink Collect to include employee goal setting, activity tracking, and repossession management—further strengthening oversight and accountability. These enhancements will help the credit union continue delivering a structured and transparent collections experience that aligns with its mission to support members through financial challenges.
