MeridianLink Releases Mortgage Credit Link Version 7.0

COSTA MESA, California - April 15, 2004 - MeridianLink announces the latest release of its Web-based mortgage credit reporting solution, Mortgage Credit Link (MCL).  Version 7.0 of MCL features new support for additional ancillary settlement service products and the unveiling of the Settlement Services Worksheet (SSW), a novel method of marketing bundled mortgage service products.

MeridianLink, a leader in mortgage credit reporting technology, has released version 7.0 of Mortgage Credit Link, bringing several new enhancements to their Web-based system that expands the capabilities of credit reporting agencies to create new revenue streams from ancillary mortgage settlement service products.

In partnership with Veri-Tax, the MCL system has an embedded product ordering and delivery system for tax return verifications.  The tax return verification products include up to four years of personal 1040 and W-2 filings, as well as 1065 Partnership Income Tax and 1120 Corporation Tax return verifications.   All tax transcripts are delivered to the MCL system for online retrieval and aggregate billing.

With a turnaround time of one to two days, fraud prevention can occur at pre-funding to increase the value of the loan portfolio as well as streamline the mortgage company's operation by eliminating the need for the borrower to search for income documents that may be lost.   Tax return verifications join a host of other settlement service products that already exist on the MCL system, including flood zone determinations, automated valuation models (AVM), and identity verification.

Combining all of these products with MCL robust credit reporting features is the aim of the Settlement Services Worksheet (SSW), patent-pending technology recently developed by MeridianLink.   The SSW is designed to simplify the ordering process for multiple products by eliminating re-keying of borrower information and linking billing for each product onto a single invoice.  In addition, all products interface with the MCL credit card transaction module, providing a convenient method to instantly pay for the requested services.

Since its initial release in 2000, Mortgage Credit Link has become the most widely used Web-based credit reporting system amongst independent mortgage credit reporting companies.  More than 22,000 mortgage companies rely on the MCL platform to handle their credit reporting needs everyday.   With the release of MCL Version 7.0, credit reporting agencies have an opportunity to bundle multiple product offerings and provide their clients a convenient, online method for ordering their settlement services from a single source to eliminate overhead costs of managing multiple logins and bills.
